Eyeore Ponders. Thoughts after working hours.
How what I read and listen to builds an outlook on life.
Welcome! I am glad you’ve found my page
Who am I and what do I want to share?
I am a mechanical engineer, a designer of steel structures. This job, throughout almost four decades, has always been for me more a craft than business. Literature, the history of ideas, interdisciplinary thinking during hikes on mountain trails or in the woods, are the air I breathe in to recharge.
At the time in family life when children have grown up and the pressure of everyday duties eases, I’ve realized that I could have some thoughts to share. From work to family to savouring free time. Reflections after readings and impressions from people I listen to. Ideas about how to cope with so rapid changes in the modern world.
At least for some fledgeling time, I intend to publish everything for free. How will it evolve, and if it ever deserves to be paywalled, we’ll see.
Why Eyeore?
This introvert character from “Winnie the Pooh” by Alan Alexander Milne, one of the favourite readings of my childhood, is my kindred spirit. Not a conqueror-of-the-world type, but a thinker who tries to build a coherent outlook and to live by simple, inviolable rules.
I strongly believe that my subsequent posts will tell much beyond this introduction.
